Mayor Lamar A. Hernandez-Thorpe is a proud resident and 41st Mayor of the City of Antioch. Elected in 2020, he made history by earning the most votes of any mayor in the city's 150-year history. Between 2016 and 2020, Mayor Hernandez-Thorpe served the city as vice mayor and council member-at-large.

Hernandez-Thorpe is the second African American and first Afro-Mexican to serve as mayor. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and a graduate of The George Washington University.
